My dad's on the very far left. The actual B/W pic was getting faded, so I decided to scan it before it degraded even more. This is one of my favorite ones, too. My dad used to be on a cycling team when he was a lot younger. In fact, I learned how to ride the "real road bikes" on his old race bike, the Rossin. We also have an old Colnago that I used until I outgrew the poor thing. The Rossin's frame was a bit stiffer--so much so that you could tell how harsh the ride was each time you took it out. Both framesets have the Campy Record groups on 'em. I'll try to scan some pics of the 2 bikes sometime.
Any guesses as to who's the guy on the left talking with my dad? HINT: He's The Father of the Hydrogen Bomb. Yup, it's Dr. Edward Teller. The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory was holding a special event for Dr. Teller's birthday. Check out another pic with Dr. Teller. These pics got into a lot of the Bay Area's newspapers!
