San Francisco Region SCCA Solo 2
If you're in the Bay Area, this is just your ticket...
SCCA
Their main site.
SCCA Forums
A great place for SCCA-related questions, parts, entire cars, etc.
SCCA SOLO II Car Class Database
This is a Java-based searchable database. It takes a while to load and has a weird interface, but
it's the most complete I've found to date.
SpeedFreakz
If you're 25 or younger, here's your break. Instead of paying the regular SCCA membership dues, you
pay a smaller amount. Why?.. Does it matter?! Nah, but let's just say they're giving us poor, young
ones a break.
Improved Touring
Here's a web site dedicated to IT cars and racing.
Speedvision World Challenge & Touring Cars
A great series of races w/ cars based on production vehicles.
NASA
An alternative to SCCA auto-x events. Just click on the regional link on the top navigation
bar.
Nor Cal NASA Chapter
Here's the Nor Cal autox site.
Autocross.com
Still trying to find your car's perfect setup? If you're lucky and own one of the more popular
cars, it'll have the recommended alignment settings, tire pressures, etc.
West Texas Region SCCA Car Setup/Troubleshooting Guide
This is a great site for sorting out your car's handling problems. Just make sure to change only
one thing at a time. It'd be nice to know what aspect of your suspension controls certain
behaviors. If you make 5 changes to the suspension at once, you'll never know how to tweak things
at individual tracks.
North American Pylon
Prob'ly the nicest publication that covers autocrossing. What's cool is that the people who put it
together are in the Bay Area. What's even more cool is that they race with the rest of us!
Grassroots Motorsports
Read about project cars that real people with finite money--like you and me!--build. If you're
looking for some "foo foo" tacked-on rear wings, totally outrageous body kits that don't do squat for
aerodynamics, or interior air fresheners guaranteed to add 10 hp, this isn't for you...
Laguna Seca Raceway
Arguably the world's most "fun" race track! If you have any interest in roadracing, you're
most likely familiar with turns 8/8A, better known as The Corkscrew. NASCAR, CART, Toyota
Formula Atlantic, American Le Mans Series, Mazda Star, and Barber Pro Series cars and World Super Bikes run on this track.
Extreme GEEZ
For those of you who want to know where you need to improve, this software/hardware is invaluable.
It'll help you squeeze out the last hundredth of a second on course.
TAP Plastics
A great place to get some sheet magnet for your autox needs. You can also get some Delrin bushing
material for spring spacers and other uses.
ZOOM Pics
Professional quality pics of various motorsports racing.
