This section is dedicated to all of my friends' cars. Oddly enough--okay, maybe not--almost everyone has a Toyota of some sort. The pic above was taken in front of George's place and it shows what a big ol' Toyota family we are. There are 3 generations of Corollas and the newer ZZW30 Spyder in this pic alone.
Ben de Leon
San Jose, CA
Here's Ben's US-spec Corolla GT-S. This is his, what?, 3rd or 4th Corolla, already! =) Compare the Levin front end (Cam's
pic) and the Trueno front end (Ben's). Personally, I like the Trueno style better, but others love the Levin. It'd be nice
having an AE92 with the Levin bodywork in the US since it's rare.
I think Ben used Eibach Pro Kit springs, too, but his car looks like it sits lower than mine... Hmmm...
He also has the //TRD anti-sway bars front and rear... Something I need to get for auto-xing... =)
Ben's GT-S next to my GT-S. This was right after some fun runs at the end of the day at Marina...
Randy Noll
Oakland, CA
SFR SCCA: CS 24
Randy and his old '91 SW21 at a NASA autox event at Marina Airfield near Monterey.
Oh crap! Where does this piece go?.. Randy trying to not look overwhelmed by the many pieces
that make an engine go "suck, squish, bang, whoosh..." =) The engine ran a little low on oil during one
autox event and eventually spun and smashed the #1 rod bearing.
The following 3 pics are f/ the SCCA SOLO II 2001 Nationals where Randy earned a 4th place trophy in
C Stock (field of 53 cars). Randy got a newer '93 hardtop and it's currently his race car. Check out how
far ahead he's lookin'!
I've always liked the nice '95 taillights.
Why can't I consistently place my car this close to the cones?!! =)
Antonio Alvendia
Los Angeles, CA
Antonio's Hachiroku at the SEMA show in Las Vegas 2000.
It was also featured in the Japanese Young Version magazine.
