Friends' Cars

Cam Bayliss
New Zealand

Cam's super nice Levin. Notice the rear bumper that doesn't stick out (ugly!) as much as the North American-spec cars. And check out the wheels... Those are 16" x 7.5" wheels wrapped with 205/40 Falkens. Niiice... Getting anything bigger than 15" here in the "potholes galore!" SF Bay Area is suicide, though.

This is what's different between the Levin and Trueno models--Levins have fixed headlights and different front end bodywork. Aside from that, everything else is the same. This is the first Levin on my site. =)

Here's a shot of the JDM-spec engine bay on Cam's Levin. Notice the top of the strut towers--that's the TEMS stuff to control the suspension. Also, check out the lack of emissions crap near the intake manifold head. So that's what mine should look like... Hahaha... Yeah, right!

Heh, I love this guy! He thinks just like I do... Notice the lack of the 3rd brake light that's usually mounted in the center pod of the rear spoiler. I dunno if the bottom lip on the bumper was stock on JDM cars, but it looks nice. Compare it to my car or Ben's car and you'll see. Cam also pointed out the smooth trunk lid--check it out... No lock. That's one way to stop the bastard thieves! Heh... =)

Check out the digital dash in Cam's Levin! I'm usually against digital dashes (think back to the C3 Corvettes with a temp. gauge that goes down as the coolant temp. rises!), but this one was done nicely without any clutter. I've been getting quite a few inquiries about where to get this dash. Unfortunately for us people state-side, the digital dash was only available as an option from the factory in the Japanese Domestic market; i.e. it's a factory unit.

Mikhal el Arculli
Austin, Texas

Mikhal's running a carbed 4A-GE in his AE82. He has a whole butt-load of mods--check out his site for the details. Notice how flat the car's attitude is while in the middle of the turn! Yet, another satisfied Ground Control coilover user. Is there a pattern here???

It says it all...

Adrian Black
Los Angeles, CA

Here's Adrian's ride. It's just like mine... Except it's cleaner. =) Drop by Adrian's site to learn more...

Alan Zee
San Francisco, CA

SFR SCCA: SM 74

Alan's AE92 supercharged sedan at a recent autox event!

We converted the car to rear disc brakes in late early '01. The car looks so much nicer with rear discs! We also swapped in the supercharged motor from an '89 MR2 to transform the car from a wheezing, carb-powered grocery-getter to a supercharged, EFI'd Blue Bomber. Read all about it!

Alan picked up this lovely '78 TE31 Corolla for free! Maybe slap a turbo onto the 1.6L 2T-C motor, Panasport 13" C8s on stickies, with a mean gunmetal gray paint scheme??? Oooh, baby! I guess you can say that this is my car's bastardized grandfather?
