A Few Tips...

  1. Use synthetic oil only after the engine's been fully broken in (at least 3000 miles).
  2. Be good to your engine--change the oil every 3000-5000 miles even if you use a synthetic. True, synthetics hold their viscous properties longer and better than regular oils. BUT, the detergents that help absorb and neutralize harmful blow-by gasses are still affected the same as regular oils. Also, if you regularly autox your car, make sure to change the oil religiously so the motor will last longer.
  3. If you have a high mileage motor and notice that it goes through a quart of oil more often than you'd prefer, try using a heavier weight oil like 20W-50. If the piston ring/cylinder wall wear isn't too bad, that should help immensely.
  4. If your tranny isn't shifting as smooth as it used to, try using Redline MTL fluid. It might take a while before you notice the effects, but you'd be surprised at what it can do!
  5. Add a bottle of Water Wetter by Redline to your coolant. It actually helps increase the heat transfer properties of coolant.
  6. If you're looking for brake fluid that can take the abuse, I'd recommend using Motul MP600.
