
The 16v 4A-GE's valvetrain. The red stuff that you see dribbling out at various spots is an engine
assembly lube.

This was right after I did the valve clearances which explains why the valve covers weren't installed
in this pic. Notice all of the soot in the exhaust ports.

The long block looks so much more ugly with all of the wires attached to it, huh? Notice the cam
gears--all large port motors (including the supercharged 4A-GZE) got this "5-spoke star" design. The
later small port motors got the "circle cutout" design.

A 3/4 shot of the long block. Kinda hard to imagine that this dinky motor revs so high so easily. =)
