The parade lap of the Diablo GT-Rs. That pace car should be a Celica GT-S... =)
18 of the 19 Diablo GT-Rs at Turn 2--one was having some last-minute difficulty in pit lane. This has got to be one of the best spots at Laguna Seca to watch--a lot of drivers push their braking points deeper in hopes of passing another car. From Turn 11, cars accelerate to top speed and go through Turn 1, a slight kink to the left, and get hard on the brakes to slow down to around 60 mph. This sometimes ends up with some of 'em playing bumper cars with each other. Could you imagine these ultra-expensive Lambo's getting it on WWF-style with each other? Amazingly, only 2 GT-Rs suffered any body damage.
The GT-Rs were going at about 60 mph at this point.
The Corkscrew is supposedly equivalent to a 3-story drop in elevation.
