SCUBA Diving

Got Water?

Me and my instructor, Dr. Mark Rotter, lugging some equipment back to his car. Imagine doing that with about 40 lbs. on your back and the car is UP some stairs and about 150 feet away. Luckily, on the 2nd day of my certification weekend, I had some "SCUBA sherpas" (as coined by Mark) who happened to be my sister and best friend, Floyd. I got my training through the "Vaqueros del Mar" dive club (VDM) based at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in California. It was cool knowing that at least half of the divers had Ph.D.'s!

Me at back of the Supra, packing away the octopus. After I got everything squared away and I changed into some warm, dry clothes, I took my SCUBA sherpas out for some lunch. Clam chowder in a bread bowl, natch...

My first dive at Cabo San Lucas near Lover's Cove.

Me in the water. Duh...

This dive was about 5 miles WSW of Cozumel, near Cancun. We were about 55 feet deep in this one.
